Dallas VDL passed away at the age of sixteen
Sunday evening, VDL Stud announced that the KWPN-recognized jumping stallion Dallas VDL (by Douglas) passed away at the age of sixteen. The stallion had to be euthanized after a tragic accident at the stallion show in St. Lo. "We will miss this beautiful superstar," VDL Stud said.
The stallion was born at Frans Kenis's stud in Brecht, Belgium. Thanks in part to his good results with Jur Vrieling, Dallas VDL was recognized by the KWPN at the age of twelve. Dallas VDL, descended from Douglas (out of Wonder A.S. prest by Heartbreaker), competed at the highest level for a long time. "Dallas VDL had been out of the sport for some years and was now a popular breeding stallion at our station. He impressed with his beautiful conformation, his jumping ability, and his good offspring," VDL Stud reported on their website. Frozen semen from Dallas VDL is still available.
